How Bruce Willis lives today at 67 is sad to see…

This year, Bruce Willis announced that he will retire from acting due to aphasia, a progressive brain condition that affects one’s ability to speak and communicate with others. The much-loved actor is now being taken care of by his family, most notably by his wife, Emma Heming Willis.

Since the 67-year-diagnosis, old’s the last few months have been hard for the Willis family, but it has also brought them closer together. Bruce and Emma sold their home in Westchester, New York, so they could move to California.

Reports say that Willis doesn’t leave his house much. Instead, he seems to be “trapped” in his own mind.

The announcement that Bruce Willis had been diagnosed with aphasia sent shockwaves across the whole planet. The legendary and much-loved actor is just 67 years old, but he has already starred in the last film of his career. He is well known for his appearances in films such as Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, and The Sixth Sense, among many others.

But before we get to it, let’s review Bruce’s long and successful career first.

His father was in the United States military and was stationed at Idar-Oberstein, West Germany, during the time of his son’s birth on March 19, 1955. Willis, the eldest of four children, traveled back to the United States with his family when he was two years old. The family eventually settled at Carney’s Point, New Jersey.

Everyone says that Willis’s stuttering had a big effect on his childhood. The actor said that his stuttering was so severe that he had difficulty communicating verbally, as stated in the book Bruce Willis: The Unauthorized Biography, which was published in 1997.

He was lucky that he was able to get help in the most unlikely place.

“It took me three minutes to finish that statement,” he said. “It was scary for anyone who wanted to speak up and be heard but couldn’t. However, I stopped stuttering when I took on a different character in a play. It was really incredible,” he said.

In addition, a speech therapist at his school guided him through a series of exercises that helped him overcome his stuttering and build up his self-confidence. When Bruce was a senior in high school, he gave it his best to blend in by becoming the school’s favorite funny guy. Because of this, he eventually became active in the theatre club at the school.

After graduating from Penns Grove High School, Bruce went on to work as a security guard and then at a chemical factory.
He finally went back to school, enrolling at Montclair State University in New Jersey, where he instantly found theatre. Bruce was eager to develop the acting abilities required to succeed in the industry. Fortunately, he had received great guidance from Jerry Rockwood, his drama professor, who saw the talented actor’s potential right away.

He ultimately skipped class to attend auditions in Manhattan. He had his first acting role in the play Heaven and Earth in January 1977.

Bruce made the decision to leave school in his second year in order to focus on his acting career. He relocated to New York to give himself the best shot possible.

Willis’ stage job at that time was insufficient to cover the rent. He supported it by serving drinks and modeling for companies like Levis and Ray-Ban.

Bruce had his first few uncredited cinematic parts in the early 1980s. He was a young, stubborn, and talented actor who made his own decisions during auditions. That was a move that would ultimately pay off greatly.

In the year 1985, he was given the part of David Addison in the television series Moonlighting, which was shown on ABC. There were almost 3,000 individuals who tried out for the role before he finally got it, and it ended up being his big break.

Bruce appeared in 66 episodes of Moonlighting until the program was canceled in 1989. He was no longer a young actor stumbling about seeking for the next role at that point in his life; instead, he was a rising star. Also, he was in a relationship with fellow actor Demi Moore.

Willis and Moore met at the party for the movie Stakeout’s premiere in 1987. They were both out with other people that night. In fact, Moore’s then-boyfriend Emilio Estevez was the star of the movie.

Willis and Moore initially became friends. But ultimately, love prevailed. As soon as they started spending time together, their goals were made very obvious. Willis was the one who initiated the interaction.

Moore wrote in her autobiography, Inside Out, that she had never been treated like this before.

Bruce was so brave—a true gentleman in his own loud manner. He volunteered to walk me to my car when I stated it was time for me to return home. Like a little child who didn’t want to miss the ice-cream truck, he was quite excited about it. He asked for my phone number, and I instantly had schoolgirl flutters.

Willis and Moore both tied the knot the same year. Together, they have three daughters: Rumer (born in 1988), Scout (born in 1991), and Tallulah (1994).

Bruce’s career in Hollywood went on to the next level in 1988.
He played New York officer John McClane in the movie Die Hard, and the line “Yippee-ki-yay” has since made headlines as a movie famous quote.

When he played boxer Butch Coolidge in Quentin Tarantino’s classic Pulp Fiction in 1994, he would finally get the last laugh. Bruce had secured his place among Hollywood’s best performers after appearing in two more Die Hard movies, an action-packed performance in Armageddon, and a memorable appearance in The Sixth Sense.

Willis’s private life had changed a lot at the time. He and Demi Moore broke up in 2000. Theirs was a highly public divorce due to the fact that at the time they were considered one of the influential couples in Hollywood.

After seven years, in 2007, Willis met his second wife, Emma Heming. The first time the two were seen together in public was in 2008, when she accompanied him to the Sundance Film Festival.

In March of 2009, after dating for a little over a year, Bruce and Emma tied the knot in the Turks & Caicos Islands. They became parents for the first time in 2012 to a little girl named Mabel. Evelyn, the second daughter, was born two years later.

Willis’s life, as well as the lives of his wife and children, underwent a major shift in 2022. Tragically, it was disclosed in March that he had been diagnosed with aphasia, a neurological disorder that limits his capacity to speak.

Currently, Emma and their children are doing all in their power to care after Bruce. On the other hand, she isn’t exactly having an easy time of it right now. In an interview with The Bump that took place in May, the mother of two children said that the stress of taking care of everyone in the home has had a negative impact on her own health.

At this time, there is not a great deal of information available on the details of Bruce Willis’ health. Recently, there have been no photos taken of the actor in public since he is now receiving all of the required care from his cherished wife and family at the home that they share in Brentwood.

Emma Heming Willis posted a video to Instagram of her husband playing the blues on his harmonica while Derek Richard Thomas played guitar. Willis is seen seated on the ground next to a stairway while Thomas plays the guitar and sings in front of him in the video.

“Their talent is speaking for itself,” Heming Willis wrote in the caption. “I’ll just leave this here.”
