UPI, 16 November — A New York City commuter train was delayed while workers rushed to save a lost kitten off the rails…
The engineer of the 9:40 a.m. train on the Metro-North Harlem Line between North White Plains and Grand Central Terminal reported seeing a kitten on the rails at the Fordham station in the Bronx, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
The mewing of the kitten from the tracks prompted two witnesses to call the rescuers from Long Island Cat Kitten Solution.
The MTA police were able to temporarily halt train operations by cutting electricity to the Metro-North line, according to the vice president of the rescue organization, John DeBacker. This gave them the opportunity to go out onto the tracks and remove the small cat.
The MTA reported that there was only a 10-minute delay in train service.
The kitten is currently being cared for by the staff of Last Hope Inc. Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation…
