Musical skill, in particular, is not limited by the passage of time in any way. Contestants who are over the age of sixty are given the opportunity to compete against one another on The Voice Senior.
This provides senior voices with the recognition that they have long earned.
Senior candidates in singing not only have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, but they also receive one-on-one vocal coaching from celebrity judges as they advance through the competition and compete against other contestants to be named the winner.
Senior candidates in singing not only have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience, but senior candidates in singing also have the chance to perform in front of an audience.
On “The Voice Senior,” there have been several formidable rivals who have embarrassed a great number of industry pros.
In addition, in contrast to a great number of younger singers, these older artists do not use auto-tune to “fix” their vocals.
The vocal ability that is showcased on “The Voice Senior” is unfiltered and unaltered in any way.
The 63-year-old Mechelina is not an exception to this rule.
Mechelina is not only a grandma but also a great-grandmother, yet when she went onto the platform of ‘The Voice,’ most younger people assumed that she was just a ‘ordinary’ grandmother.
Mechelina has two generations of women in her family. Mechelina, like most grandmothers, possesses a unique power; she has a commanding voice. This is Mechelina’s superpower.
In the video that follows, Mechelina makes her way onto the stage before the start of the music. It’s possible that she is nervous, but then again, who wouldn’t be?
She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and then begins to sing a well-known song by Etta James, which captivates not only the panel of judges but also the audience.
The song “Something’s Got A Grip On Me” has been sampled and covered by a number of contemporary musicians, but never in this manner.
Rich and sparkling, Mechelina’s voice whisks the audience away on an emotional journey as she tenderly caresses the words while maintaining that classic 1960s sound:
“Let me tell you right now that I have never, ever felt this way in the past. I have the impression that someone or something is holding on to me tightly and won’t let go.
Etta James, Leroy Kirkland, and Pearl Woods are responsible for the composition of the gospel, blues, and soul ballad “Something’s Got A Grip On Me.”
James asserted in the past that we were the ones who composed the melody and that it was adapted from a gospel song.
The name of the gospel hymn was “Something’s Got a Grip On Me, It Must Be the Lord,” and it was sung in the key of G major.
The song was an instant hit, reaching its highest position on the Hot R&B Sides chart at number four. In addition to its success on other charts, the song reached its highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 37.
When Mechelina walked the stage of “The Voice” Senior, she had a lot of expectations to meet, especially considering the song that she had chosen to perform and the fact that the audience was familiar with Etta Jame’s distinctive gospel/blues voice.
While it’s possible that the judges won’t agree with us, we think Mechelina did a good job, and we hope she’ll come back and try out for another role soon. Because she has such an incredible voice, we are eager to hear more from her.
