Who doesn’t enjoy a classic prank? However, to everyone’s surprise, this Irish grandfather managed to execute the most epic prank even after his passing. Shay Bradley, a Dublin native, was well-known for his playful nature and his ability to bring laughter to his family and friends. After his passing in 2019, Bradley left behind a final humorous surprise for everyone. According to Dublin Live, Bradley orchestrated a prank that left mourners at his funeral completely shocked.
Bradley, a grandfather of eight, made the thoughtful decision to preserve his voice to be played at his funeral in the future. A video shared on X by one of his grandchildren, Ben (@Ben_Bradley22), captured the somber gathering of Bradley’s loved ones at a cemetery in south Dublin to pay their respects. All of a sudden, the bagpipe music stopped and a familiar voice seemingly began to echo out of Bradley’s grave.
The tone of the eulogy suggests that Bradley’s spirit is yearning to break free from his final resting place. Repeated banging noises could be heard from what seemed to be the inside of the coffin. “Hello?” It is dark in here. Let me out. I can hear you. Is that the priest I can hear? I am in the box, can you hear that?” the pre-recorded message from Bradley floated around the cemetery to bring a fleck of joy to his mourning relatives as they heard him again.

His daughter Andrea took it upon herself to share the details of his prank video and audio with the online community. “Here is a picture of the legend himself. My dad, Shay Bradley. He expressed his final desire for us to play this at his funeral. What a man. To bring a smile to our faces during our darkest moments. He was some man for one man. I would love to have “Sound of Silence” or Chas and Dave’s “Rabbit Song” played at my event because I never seem to stop talking.
@OriginalRichieD added, “What a warm sentiment. It’s truly remarkable how your father’s nature shines through, even to those who never had the chance to know him. From our family to yours, our deepest condolences.”
