Influencer Praises Florida’s Deadliest Snake Seconds After It Bites Him—Now Fighting for His Life in ICU!

A wildlife influencer, David Humplett, 25, was bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake, Florida’s deadliest snake, while walking through a forest with friends. Instead of panicking, he began filming himself moments after the bite, responding with humor and shockingly complimenting the snake.

“Welp, I am cooked,” he said in the video as his friends looked on in stunned silence. Even after realizing the severity of his situation, Humplett praised the reptile, calling it a “cool snake” and referring to it as a “big diamondback.” He jokingly added, “GG (good game),” while laughing on camera. Staying true to his influencer persona, he said, “Let’s get the pictures of it first. I mean, we’re already screwed anyways,” and described the diamondback as “the worst snake you can be bit by in Florida.”

In the video, Humplett pulled up his jeans to reveal the bleeding bite mark, laughing through the ordeal. He was later airlifted to UF Health Shands hospital, where he received 88 antivenom injections. Hours after the incident, a video shared on X showed him in a hospital bed, struggling to speak. “As I got back in the car, I started going into anaphylactic shock. I thought my shin was going to explode. I’m scared I’m gonna die but hopefully not,” he admitted.

Despite the life-threatening experience, Humplett remained positive, expressing no anger toward the snake. “The snake was just doing what it does. It perceived me as a threat and was trying to protect itself. I’m not mad at the snake, and I don’t want anyone else to be mad at it either,” he said.
