3-Year-Old Girl Mauled by Family Dogs While Visiting Father for Christmas: Mom Seeks Justice

Authorities report that a 3-year-old girl in Cincinnati, Ohio, was tragically killed in a dog attack involving 100-pound animals two days after Christmas. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Kingsley Wright died on December 27, while her father was asleep on the couch.

In a distressing 911 call, the father expressed his shock and confusion: “I just woke up, and my daughter is dead. There’s blood everywhere. I don’t know what happened,” as reported by Fox19. He told authorities that the dogs had been secured in their cages while he napped, adding, “They’re in the cage, so I’m like, ‘Did any of my pets attack her or something?’”

Kingsley’s mother, Gina Smith, voiced her anger and disbelief, questioning why her daughter was left in close proximity to such large dogs while under her father’s care. “I would have never left my baby around dangerous dogs. Why would I do that?” she told WLWT. Smith’s boyfriend, Josh Justice, also expressed his concern, speculating, “These dogs weigh over 100 pounds. Did they sit on her? Crush her? Why did this happen?”

Cincinnati police are actively investigating the incident. Kingsley’s obituary describes her as a vibrant child who “loved to sing and dance” and “always saw the positive and bright side of everything around her.”
