Long before he became the world’s most recognizable bald action hero, Jason Statham was a young athlete with a full head of hair. He was a competitive diver on the British national team, and his breakout film roles in the late 1990s showed him with short, dark hair. By the early 2000s, the shaved head had become his trademark.

Today he is 59, and 2026 has kept him busy. He started the year with the thriller Shelter, in which he plays a reclusive man living by the sea whose life is turned upside down after he rescues a young girl. Critics called it some of his best work in years.

His next film, Mutiny, arrived this August. He plays Cole Reed, a former soldier caught up in a conspiracy on a ship at sea. Two more projects are on the way: The Beekeeper 2 is expected in early 2027, and the comedy Jason Statham Stole My Bike, where he plays himself, is due in August 2027.
Away from the cameras, his life is much quieter. Statham has been with model and entrepreneur Rosie Huntington-Whiteley since they met in 2010, and they got engaged in 2016. Reports still describe them as engaged rather than married. Together they have two children, son Jack, born in 2017, and daughter Isabella, born in 2022.
The couple keeps their children out of the spotlight, but in April 2026 Statham shared rare family holiday photos from Turkey. Fans loved the glimpse of the tough action star as a relaxed family man.

So the next time you see that famous bald head on screen, remember the young diver with hair who started it all.
