What has happened to this couple after 71 years of marriage is both tragic and beautiful… Tap below for more…

When was the last time you heard or read a love story that seemed like it was straight out of a fairytale? A story that moved you to tears while also opening your eyes to the reality of genuine love.

Even after being married for such a long period of time, this couple continued to treat each other with kindness and love. Even death could not separate them from the strong and pure love that they had for each other.

We all share the same dream of spending our golden years with the person who has been our best partner and friend throughout our lives.

You get up, make some coffee, and chat about anything while soaking in the breathtaking view that surrounds your off-grid house. Simply spending the day with your partner, second half, or best friend. You and your husband sit down to a simple supper, watch a movie, and then kiss each other goodbye before sleeping for the night.

Growing old, enjoying a simple life, and spending your time with the one who completes you.

When Herbert DeLaigle, 94, and Marilyn Frances DeLaigle, 88, who had been married for 71 long but wonderful years, passed away on the same day in 2019, their story went viral.

Seventy years is a long time, but for Marilyn and Herbert, every day of their marriage was full with joy, beauty, and laughter. Maybe this was the reason they couldn’t stand to be apart, even after they passed away.

Sadly, Herbert passed away at 2:20 a.m..   Marilyn died away on the same day at 2:20 pm.

Their story sounded like it belongs in a novel. Their romance began at the White Way Cafe in Waynesboro, where Herbert and Marilyn first met. Frances was just 16 years old at the time, and Herbert, a gorgeous young man, was 22.

“I had my eyes set on her as I kept watching her walking in and out, in and out. “And then I eventually worked up the courage to ask her if she’d go out with me someday,” Herbert DeLaigle said in an interview.

As time went on, Herbert’s persistence paid off, and Marilyn eventually gave in and agreed to go on a date with him. After dating Marilyn for a year, Herbert was certain she was the one. Without waiting around, he proposed to her.

Even when Marilyn had answered yes to Herbert’s proposal, there was a significant possibility that the wedding would have been postponed due to Herbert’s chronic tardiness. Herbert even said that on the day of their wedding, the pastor was about to call off the ceremony since they were running an hour late.

Herbert was always up for a good joke. He made sure that everyone had a good time and kept the spirits high with his jokes, which was another quality that Marilyn admired in him. When they were questioned about the key to a happy and long-lasting marriage, they simply replied:

“Show your love and be there for each other”, this is the advice from the couple.

They have 6 children together. In addition, they have sixteen grandkids, followed by 25 great-grandchildren, and finally, three great-great-grandchildren.

It is easy to see how much love they have for each other. The manner in which they look at each other, the ease with which they grasp each other’s hand, and of course, the beautiful kiss that they exchanged.

You can really get a sense of how genuine and deep their love is.
You can see the interview they did for their 70th anniversary right here. A year prior to their passing on the same day.

Please SHARE this amazing love story with your friends.
