In a video posted to Instagram on Monday by the founder of Magnolia Journal, her four-year-old son Crew painstakingly writes a birthday card for his father Chip Gaines on an index card and explains what each letter says to his mother.
“I adore you, Dad. “I really love you and I hope you want to go fishing,” he says as he moves his finger across the paper as he “reads.” “He does not pause. “I love you, Dad, and I hope we can go fishing together.”
“I love you Dad. I truly hope I want to go fishing with you,” he paused before saying.”

The 44-year-old Fixer Upper actress is also the mother of sons Duke, 14, and Drake, 17, and daughters Emmie, 12, and Ella, 16.

She shared, “I always believed that, as the mother, I should have the answers.” “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve recognized that the more humanity these children perceive in me, the stronger our bond will be.”
She continued, “I want kids to witness the ups and downs so that when they’re anxious about school or relationships, they know it’s a safe place to come to me.”
Last month, the pair celebrated Ella’s 16th birthday. They decorated the family’s living and dining areas with bright balloons and hung a “sweet sixteen” banner over the kitchen table..,
“My lovely girl turns 16. Tomorrow, when she drives off on her own, I’m going to try my hardest not to cry like a blubbering baby “The video was captioned by Joanna.
