A rescue group in California threw a birthday party for a dog that had been living in a shelter for more than two years.․․ But then this happened

Dana’s birthday wish is to get a house.

The American pit bull terrier mix has lived at the Oceanside campus of the San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) in California for two years. It was found as a stray in 2020.

Even though Dana has been in the shelter for a while, she has “won the hearts of everyone who’s taking care of her,” SDHS said.

The staff at SDHS is so in love with Dana that they are determined to find her a home. They recently threw the 7-year-old dog a birthday party to bring attention to her search for a family.

“What are the most important things to have at the best birthday party ever? On our list are decorations, tasty treats, a lot of presents, room to cuddle and run around, and a lot of squeaky toys!

Oh, and did we leave something out? This birthday party is for a dog who deserves it very much.” SDHS posted about the party on Facebook with a video of Dana having fun.

“Dana has been in our care for more than TWO YEARS, and while we wish this was a party to send her home, we’ll take any chance to celebrate this sweet dog!

You only turn 7 once, after all!) We got all of Dana’s fans together to throw her a birthday party she deserved, and her reaction made it all worth it “the post went on.

Dana eagerly greeted her guests, played with toys and treats, and enjoyed being the center of attention on video from the party.

SDHS hopes that the dog’s party will make an animal lover want to take her home and love on her every day.

“Dana’s pupcakes didn’t have candles, but her greatest wish is to find a place where she can feel this happy every day. Maybe with just a little bit less fuss, “SDHS put something on Facebook.

Based on what the group says, “Dana is a real pleasure. She likes to stay busy and go on adventures.”

The rescue dog would do best in a home with no other pets and kids over 12 years old. Dana would also love a big yard, a comfortable bed, and parents who would let her keep training.
