Alec Baldwin was officially accused of killing a cameraman…

In addition to that, charges have been brought against gun expert Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who worked at the location in question.

Alec Baldwin, an actor from Hollywood, has been legally charged with the unintended murder of Halyna Hutchins, a camerawoman who was born in Ukraine.

Baldwin was formally charged with two counts of manslaughter on the evening of Tuesday, January 31, by Mary Carmack-Altvis, the district attorney for Santa Fe County.

During the filming of “Rust” in New Mexico in 2021, the actor has been charged with criminally negligent homicide for his role in the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.

The incident occurred because the actor disregarded the safety precautions that were in place.

According to the story, the indictment was handed down by District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altvis after months of discussion regarding whether or not Baldwin had proof that he was criminally negligent when the handgun he was practicing with was shot from the cartridge that killed Hutchins.

Allegations have also been brought against Hanna Gutierrez-Reid, a weapons specialist who worked on the television series “Grow Up.” These charges are in addition to those brought against Baldwin.

Both Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed have been charged with two counts of manslaughter in connection with the incident.

For the most serious accusation, which carries a potential term of five years in prison, the prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt to the jury that Baldwin behaved with a conscious disregard for the safety of other people.

The legal representative for Baldwin declined to comment. The attorney for Gutierrez-Reed stated that the prosecution “totally misinterpreted the evidence and arrived to the erroneous conclusions.”

Baldwin was charged as both an actor and a producer for his role in a low-budget picture, according to a statement released by Robert Schilling, a special investigator working for the prosecutor’s office.

Schilling cited one of Baldwin’s many “extremely reckless actions and reckless inactions” that ultimately led to Hutchins’ death as being his refusal to get sufficient firearms training, to check with the gunsmith whether the revolver was loaded, or to address safety complaints from the crew.

Ultimately, all of these factors contributed to Hutchins’ passing. Baldwin, for his part, denies responsibility for the shooting that occurred at the church where he accidentally shot Hutchins.

He claims that the cameraman ordered him to point the gun at the camera, and when he did so, he raised the revolver but did not pull the trigger. Hutchins was shot as a result of the accident.

Recall that on October 21, 2021, while Alec Baldwin was filming “Rust,” he inadvertently shot and killed Ukrainian-born cameraman Halyna Hutchins and injured director of photography Joel Souza.

The incident occurred on set. The actor gave his word that he was unaware that the weapon was loaded into the chamber.
