Authorities are looking into the shooting incident involving a security guard outside Drake’s residence in Toronto…

A security guard employed at Drake’s residence in Toronto, Canada, was shot, as stated by authorities on Tuesday.

According to Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Toronto Police, officers responded to a call at the residence around 2 a.m. local time on Tuesday. They discovered a wounded man, who was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

The security guard was stationed outside the home’s gate when the shooting occurred, as per officials. He is currently hospitalized in serious condition.

During a press briefing, Krawczyk refrained from confirming whether Drake was present at the time of the incident. However, he mentioned that authorities are in contact with Drake’s team, which is fully cooperating with the investigation.

When questioned by reporters about a possible connection between the shooting and Drake’s ongoing feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, Krawczyk stated that no motive has been established yet.

He noted that there were multiple suspects involved, who fled the scene in a vehicle, and investigators are examining video footage of the incident.

CNN’s attempts to obtain comments from Drake’s representatives were unsuccessful.

Drake, recognized as one of the highest-selling recording artists in history and a five-time Grammy Award winner, is renowned for hits such as “Nice For What.”

Last year, he was honored by the Recording Industry Association of America for being the first artist to surpass 200 million units in sales.

The rivalry between Drake and Lamar has recently escalated, with both artists releasing songs targeting each other, featuring personal and professional critiques that have ignited debates among their fan bases.
