For several months, the woman’s husband had been going into and out of a coma, but she had remained at his bedside every day. When he regained consciousness one day, he gestured for her to approach. With teary eyes, he said to her as she sat next to him, “You know what? You have supported me during my darkest moments. You were there for me when I got fired. You were standing by when my business failed. You were there for me when I got shot. You remained here when we lost the house. You remained at my side even as my health began to deteriorate. You know what?”
“What dear?” She smiled and asked in a gentle way, her heart warming up.
