To Say That the Man Has a Gift for Craftsmanship Is an Understatement. Just Take a Look at What He’s Done with an Old Cabinet — It’s a Real Beauty Now!

To say that the man has a gift for craftsmanship is an understatement. Just take a look at what he’s done with an old cabinet — it’s a real beauty now!

Antique furniture isn’t necessarily doomed to be discarded. Even design professionals know how to transform it into unique pieces that can become the centerpiece of your home. And this magical transformation is entirely possible to do at home, without the need for designers.\

When my husband brought home an old buffet, I was initially pretty skeptical about this find. However, he already had a plan for how he could update it to use at our cottage. Our son helped him with the project.

After dismantling the old furniture parts, all the chips and holes were carefully filled in with putty. The glass was treated with a special aerosol spray, restoring its original shine and aesthetic appeal.

The color palette chosen consisted of eight shades. The back panel of the buffet now features stripes in white and beige tones. The shelves were painted a crisp white, ready to hold various décor pieces or other household essentials.

Two pull-out drawers were given an elegant gray makeover with contrasting black handles, and the door now features a geometric pattern combining black, yellow, gray, and blue.

Inside, the cabinet was painted a deep purple, and three convenient shelves in a rich blue were added.

Although he had restored the glass, my husband decided not to use it, thinking it might be useful for future decorative projects. For now, the buffet in its minimalist style is a point of pride, catching everyone’s eye with its unique charm and aesthetic appearance.
