Fans of Friends will always know him as Joey Tribbiani, the lovable, food-obsessed actor whose catchphrase “How you doin’?” became a cultural staple. But LeBlanc’s career has spanned far more than that one iconic role, from the Joey spinoff to his Golden Globe-winning turn playing a fictionalized version of himself on Episodes, to years spent behind the wheel as a co-host of Top Gear.
His most recent regular TV role was on the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan, which ran from 2016 to 2020. After that show wrapped, LeBlanc largely stepped out of the public eye. He made a nostalgic appearance in the 2021 Friends reunion special and popped up in an episode of Top Gear that same year — but otherwise, he kept a low profile for years.

That changed earlier in 2026. In February, LeBlanc unexpectedly resurfaced in a star-studded Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin’, reuniting on screen with his Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston. The appearance delighted longtime fans and sparked speculation about a bigger comeback.
That speculation was confirmed in April 2026, when CBS announced it was developing a new cop drama titled Flint, with LeBlanc attached to both star and executive produce. The show casts him as a burnt-out LAPD detective who, on the verge of retirement, has his service unexpectedly extended by five years — and who tries (unsuccessfully) to get himself fired by breaking rules and disobeying orders, only to become an even better cop in the process.

The project comes from writer Evan Katz, with CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television producing. If picked up to series, Flint would mark LeBlanc’s first major TV role in his career since 2020, and could hit screens as part of CBS’s 2027–28 lineup.
On the personal side, LeBlanc was previously married to model Melissa McKnight from 2003 to 2006, and later was in a long-term relationship with actress Andrea Anders from 2006 to 2014. He has one daughter.
Nearly two decades after we first said goodbye to Joey Tribbiani, it looks like Matt LeBlanc isn’t done yet — and audiences are ready to welcome him back.
